Prayer is a way of communicating with God. It is not just a time when we just come and talk to God and walk away. To break it further down, communication on its own is a two-way thing, when you speak to someone; you are expecting that person to speak back to you. In the same vein, it is the same that happens between us and God, when we speak to God, God expects us to also listen to what he has to say to us. This is how understanding comes; when we speak to God concerning a matter, we are impatient to hear him speak about that; we will not be cleared on that issue and we will not know what to do.

Therefore, when we pray to God, it is pertinent to wait and hear him talk about the issue; it will bring clarity on that matter and what steps to take and how to tackle the problem.

The bible said that the voice of God is mightier than the voice of many waters. We can’t hear God if we don’t take the time to listen to him. God speaks back to us when we pray to him, that’s how he brings clarification and direction in a confused state.

In other words, if we don’t pray, we may not know the heart of God and understand what he is doing per time.
